Ok... I am really glad that all these celebs want to help the folks affected by Katrina by putting on a "show". But for chrissakes... I think that everyone, especially the hurricane victims, is sick of hearing songs like "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans" and "Who'll Stop the Rain". Let's not be so goddamn literal .

So maybe I'll try to start writing again. I'm flattered by how many people continue to stop by my little corner of the web, despite my lack of updates.

What I Did Over Summer Vacation by Kim S.

I drank lots of Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi and Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

I discovered ultrapasturized organic milk, which keeps for like a month... it's completely awesome. I can buy a half gallon, and have cereal for weeks (that's the only thing I use milk for anyway).

I saw Emeril Lagasse, Elvis Costello, and Al Roker out and about.

I made a calendar for the Pagan Pride Project, which depicts pagan imagery all over the city. In the process, I tried to get into a Baptist church to take a picture of their window on three seperate occasions, but was thwarted each time. Even when I showed up for Bible study. It's like they knew I was up to no good. Do they have a mug shot book of heathens or something? Anyway... that witch one of the photos I took in Central Park.

I was really really busy at work, and it was really really unpleasant. That's all I will say about that.

My parents decided to build a house. Then they changed their mind. Then they changed it back. Then they threatened to move into a trailer. Not even a double wide. I pleaded with my mother. It took 25 years to climb out of poor hillbillydom. Let's not backslide now. They may take away our "middle class" gold card.

My cousin Lubelle is now living in SIN with Smarmyboy . Actually, they are living in Los Alamos. But in SIN. It's grrrreat. Her parents are all tore up. Sister and I just sort of snicker. Welcome to the club, kiddo.

Ok... I am watching this Fashion Rocks Concert thingie, for only one reason. David Bowie. AND WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED TO HIM? Holy shit, he's got a black eye, and his hand is all bandaged up, and he has on high water pants with no socks. I think that last part is intentional. Like one of his funky fashion statement (weird as hell, but whatever. Maybe he's translating the "flood" theme on a fashion level). Damn, I gotta hit Google, and find out what has happened to my own personal rock GOD. Jeez, first a heart attack, and now this. David, what have you done to piss off THE LORD?

Ummm... ok, that's all I can think of at the moment. I have some fame whoring news, but it'll keep for now. Did y'all have a good summer?


P.S. Duran Duran? They look pretty damn good. But only John Taylor has avoided the double chin. Plastic surgery or good genes? Damn, bass players are always the hottest member of the band anyway.

P.S.S UPDATE- the beaten up David Bowie? Evidently, that was part of the "look" he was going for. It was all gone by later in the show. The bastard. (But glad that he's still keeping us on our toes!)
